Handknits Tasmania

“Who says you can’t have a scientific brain and be wildly creative? I was one of a few female PhDs in a male-dominated scientific field back in the 1990s and have had an enjoyable career as a Chartered Chemist. But l always thought of myself as a creative person, picking up the knitting needles in my teens.”

After moving to Tasmania in 2015, Gloria started to knit again after an absence of 30 years. It started as a way to occupy herself and re-connect with her creative mind while she looked for work in her chemistry field. During this time Gloria noticed that there was a global trend emerging in super-chunky knitting, and decided to focus her craft business on that.
